Terms of service
Last updated: 31/08/2026
The short version
- These terms are the contract between you and Tolerance Limited when you buy from gettolerance.com.
- We sell Aperitif, our DAO enzyme supplement, and genetic test kits analysed by Lifecode Gx.
- Food supplements, not medicines. Nothing on our site is medical advice.
- 14 days to change your mind on most orders. Opened seals can't come back, for hygiene reasons.
- Test kits work differently, because Lifecode Gx run the testing.
- Every product page has an FAQ with more detail than we can fit here.
- Prices show in your currency at checkout. Ordering from outside the UK, import duties may apply.
- Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer.

These terms
They apply when you browse, create an account, or buy from us. Placing an order means you accept them.
They go alongside our Privacy Policy, Returns and Refunds, Shipping and Cookie Policy, which form part of your contract. The version live when you order is the one that applies.
Buying as a business rather than a consumer? The consumer protections below don't apply to you, and our liability is limited differently.
Ordering, prices and payment
Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract exists once we send your dispatch confirmation email.
We may refuse or cancel an order if it's out of stock, there's been a pricing error, we can't take payment, it looks like a reseller order, we can't lawfully supply your address, or you're ordering a test kit and are under 18. If we cancel something you've paid for, we refund in full.
Prices show in the currency for your selected country, with the total confirmed at checkout. Tax and duties depend on where we're shipping, and the breakdown is shown at checkout. Outside the UK you may also pay import duties on arrival, and those are yours.
We never see or store your full card details. Accepted payment methods are shown at checkout. If a payment fails or is reversed, we may cancel your order.
Delivery costs are in our Shipping Policy.
Supplements
Aperitif is a food supplement containing diamine oxidase (DAO), in glass jars and refill pouches.
It's a food supplement, not a medicine, and we make no medicinal claims for it. Take it as directed, don't exceed the stated dose, keep it away from children. Check the ingredients if you have allergies or intolerances. Pregnant, breastfeeding, on prescribed medication or under a doctor's care? Speak to your GP or pharmacist first.
More detail is on the product page, including an FAQ on dosage, ingredients and storage. If an FAQ ever conflicts with these terms, these terms apply.
Images are illustrative, screen colours vary, packaging may change.
Health
Everything on our site is general information and education. Not medical advice, and it doesn't create a clinical relationship between us.
Always speak to a doctor or qualified healthcare professional about any health concern or medication. Never delay or ignore medical advice because of something you read here.
Consulting a dietitian or nutritionist is between you and them. We're not responsible for the advice they give.
Please don't send us your medical history or health records. We can't advise on them.
Changing your mind
14 days from delivery to tell us, then 14 more to send it back. Email care@gettolerance.com. You cover return postage unless the item is faulty.
Opened seals can't come back, for health and hygiene reasons: supplements with a broken seal, test kits with a used swab.
Full detail in Returns and Refunds.
If something's wrong
Everything we sell has to be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.
Arrived faulty, damaged, past its date, or not what you ordered? Email us with your order number and a photo. Replacement or refund, and you won't pay to return it.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Genetic test kits
Lifecode Gx run the testing, not us. They post your kit, analyse your sample, write your report and host your consultation. We take the order and the payment, and pass them your name, email and shipping address so they can send the kit. Nothing else.
Returning your swab means agreeing to Lifecode Gx's own terms and consent form. Your sample, data, report and consultation are theirs, and we never see them. Anything about the lab work, your results or your consultation goes to them: https://support.lifecodegx.com/article/192-data-privacy
Three things before you order:
- You need to be 18 or over. We'll cancel orders where we don't believe that's the case.
- Once your swab is on its way to the lab we can't refund it, because processing has started and the sample is used up. Before that, the usual 14 days apply if the kit is unopened.
- Your report is educational, not a medical diagnosis. It tells you about genetic variants, not whether you have histamine intolerance, and nothing in it should change your medication.
We can only ship kits where we're able to. Some countries restrict genetic testing sold direct to the public, and if we can't lawfully supply yours we'll cancel and refund in full.
The test product page has an FAQ on how it works, what's in the report and what happens on the call.
Your account, and using our site
Keep your password to yourself and your details accurate. You're responsible for activity under your account.
Use the site lawfully. Don't upload malicious code, interfere with security, scrape or harvest data, misrepresent who you are, or harass anyone including our team. Don't resell or commercially exploit our products or content without written permission.
We may suspend or close your account and cancel open orders if you breach this.
Reviews, content and other sites
Reviews should be your own, honest and lawful. You're giving us permission to publish, edit and reuse what you send without payment, and we may remove anything unlawful, offensive or misleading. Please don't put health information in a public review.
The Tolerance name, logo, designs, photography and content are ours. Personal use is fine. Don't copy, republish or sell without written permission.
We link to third-party sites, including Lifecode Gx's. We don't control them, so read their terms. We try to keep our site up but can't guarantee it.
Our liability to you
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987
- any breach of your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
Subject to that:
If you're a consumer, we're responsible for foreseeable loss caused by us breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Not for unforeseeable loss, or loss from using a product for business purposes.
If you're a business, we exclude implied warranties as far as the law allows, we're not liable for loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill or indirect loss, and our total liability for any order is capped at what you paid.
We're not liable for the laboratory service. Lifecode Gx are responsible for analysing your sample, for your report, for their handling of your genetic data and for your consultation. Claims about those go to them.
We can't guarantee outcomes. No supplement or test produces a particular result, and we're not liable for decisions you take about your health.
Things outside our control
We're not liable for delays caused by things we can't reasonably control, like carrier disruption, extreme weather, fire, flood or acts of government. If a delay becomes substantial you can cancel and we'll refund you.
Ending this agreement
Stop using our site whenever you like. Anything already owed still stands.
We may close your account and cancel open orders if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, if you're abusive towards our team, if you give us false information, or if we're required to by law.
Your personal information
Set out in our Privacy Policy. In short: we hold your order and contact details, and if you buy a test kit we pass your name, email and shipping address to Lifecode Gx. We never receive your DNA sample, genetic data, report or any health information about you.
Complaints
Tell us first at care@gettolerance.com. For anything to do with your DNA sample, genetic data or report, contact Lifecode Gx directly. If we can't resolve it, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution provider or go to court.
General
If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we're slow to enforce something, we haven't given up our rights. We may transfer our rights and obligations and will tell you if we do. We may update these terms by posting a new version here.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
